A truly beautiful female; this is the style of hen to breed the males that conform to the standard. Please note the standard this fowl was judged to in the UK is almost identical to what our fowls in Australia are judged under! Who's fowls have drifted off the mark?
Thanks for the photo SHORTY a truly beautiful female; shown at the Nation British Poultry Show in the UK this fowl could not be shown at the upcoming RNCAS as she is not American Pit Game & she is not OEG as in the eyes of our current Australian judges as they interpret the Australian Standards. In the UK she is shown as Oxford OEG! The same standard as we see in our current Australian Standard!
Why should fowls that never left the UK other than on route to Australia 70 years ago suddenly become American Pit Game on the Australian Show circuit!
None of this problem in the UK,two styles miles apart no confusion,Oxford or Carlisle, most aussie birds at the balance of exhibition shows in aus.are in the middle, want to see the real thing go to Oxford shows ,I feel there's going to be a strong push for popularity of Oxford style birds to grow out here and seems to me the middle range birds are slowly getting finer and they will soon have to admit their heading the same way, allthough they won't agree. These thoughts are mine only through my observation. You fellas on here are doing great things for the Oxford fowl,i thoroughly enjoy all the information that gets posted on here and i hope these pictures help.
