Nice find :-) You still see them around sometimes. Pity this guy only has the short tales. Obviously quite a variable trait.

we have a tree loaded with the caterpillas. they are parisitized by tiny wasps in both the egg and caterpilla. if you are interested i can give you the link to my flickR site.
No worries Ruff. I have the link. I will go through them when I can. My Flickr name is Bulbophyllum69. A lot of different species of Lepidoptera are parasitised by wasps. I think the wasps are mainly in the Ichneumonidae family. They are commonly referred to by some people as Ichneumon flies even though they are not flies at all.
